Can confirm: pasta exists and there is a lot of it out there. Some of it was even consumed by yours truly.

That was awesome. I’m showing it to the family.

The one little point that I find the most amusing is that the center virus doing most of the talking is a bacteriophage. Tee-hee.

Yes, I am a nerd.

Please tell me where all the pasta is. Because there’s none in my store.

You’re talking to a bio major. I was more into the ecological stuff, but the personal is what it is.

Viruses are super fucking weird. If you’re ever listened to podcasts with the fam, my daughter (in her 6th year) was super into Stuff You Should Know . It’s what we listened to and talked about to and from school pretty much every day, and what she asked for on weekends.

Today she asked to listen to the one about Jim Henson, and How Muppets Work.

Super nerd, here.

I’ve only been to the HEB at Mueller, and not on stock-up runs.

That’s pretty nerdy.

I’ve worked my way through much Muppet lore. I watched the Dark Crystal Age of Resistance series, but was more fascinated by the “ making of” special on it.

Speaking of weird biology, do you follow the more recent developments on CRISP/Cas9 tech? The biology it’s based on is fascinating. When I was in school, we didn’t know bacteria had immune systems against phages!

This was my thought on the Dark Crystal series

I haven’t been to the store in a week, so things may have improved. They weren’t horrible when I went, but still lots of things missing. I thought I’d take a look at HEB Curbside to avoid going in. Most stores near me won’t schedule a pick up until April 15 at the earliest, and other stores have no pick up times available at all.

My feelings as well. The one thing that keep nagging at me was the feeling that the Gelfling faces could have done with more expressivity in the facial muscles.  Most everything in the face and mouth was static and presented challenges for conveying emotion. But I can see that improving that was likely prohibitively difficult in a puppet.

Plenty at Trader Joe’s when I went there a week ago. I haven’t been to a regular supermarket in a while though, and last time I did almost all of the pasta was gone, and they had filled the shelves with Pepsi products, indicating they presumably thought it could be like that for a while.

As of last week our store was holding down some inventory in all the areas that were empty the week before - eggs, bread, even toilet paper, and a bunch of other random stuff.

Due to living out if town...we have both plain flour and bread flour. We also have chickens who lay quite a few eggs. Pasta is therefore relatively easy to come by...if you can ignore time and mess!!
